How to play Remember When by Alan Jackson is played
initially in the key of G. So the chords are G, Em, C and
D for the first part of the song. In the intro, I'll also use a Dsus. Then towards the picking break part of the song, the chords now become C, Am, F and G.

The last part of the song we'll use an Esus so the chords now become A, Gbm, D and E as a result of a key change. The Esus is also used in this section. Esus is simply The E chord played with the baby finger playing the G string on the 2nd fret while in the E major position. Those are the Remember When chords.

How to play the rhythm for Remember When by Alan Jackson what I do is play the root note of the chord, followed by the string directly under the root note, followedby an upstroke, downstroke, upstroke quickly ... and then play the next chord with the same pattern.

When you reach the Esus you can play all downstrokes or
do a little shuffle pattern ... your choice.

You'll also notice in my version on how to play Remember When by Alan Jackson I use a few walking bass notes, such as when I move from the G to the Em ... you can play a quick 1-2-3 on the G, Gb and E note as you land on the Em chord. And when you move to the A chord, you can play it up on the 5th fret or play it in standard position on the 2d fret. It really doesn't matter.

In the Intro and the lead picking break, the notes you need are actually built right into the chords themselves, so there isn't to much movement away from the chord position. I explain this in video so I won't go into it here. But you'll see it blends nicely with the rhythm of the song. When we come off of the lead break is where we'll transistion to the key change by using the Esus chord. If you combine those techniques, you'll be on your way on how to play Remember When by Alan Jackson.
