Описание: A leisurely walk exploring the Strand, Townsville's 2.2km Beachfront Promenade with beautiful tropical gardens and paths, relaxed atmosphere and spectacular views along the way.

The Strand has several fantastic playgrounds for kids including the popular Strand Water Park, picnic and barbecue area for families.
There are many amenities for runners, walkers, swimmers and general fitness enthusiasts along this foreshore stretch including fitness benches, patrolled beaches, beach volleyball area, outrigger canoes, the Rockpool and the Tobruk Memorial baths (pool) that has been recently renovated - more info about the Tobruk pool history in the link below:

A number of hotels, motels, pubs, restaurants and ice creameries also pepper the Strand foreshore including Longboard Bar & Grill (my favourite spot for Buffalo chicken wings😁) with its surf and beach atmosphere and terrific alfresco views! #longboardbar_grill

From the Rockpool, there are the Jezzine Barracks and Kissing Point Fort that are definitely worth the stair climb to learn about Aboriginal and military history with its army museum, interactive walkways, ethnobotanical trail, and coastal boardwalk.

The Strand is also host to many cultural, entertainment and art show events, including the Ephemera that transforms the Strand into a 2km outdoor seaside sculptural exhibition for all to enjoy.
