Gear 5 ("Gear Fifth") is the awakened form of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, which strengthens the user's rubbery body. It also allows the user the ability to manipulate and transform their environment, similar to a Paramecia's awakening.[2] Luffy achieved this ability during his final battle with Kaidou on Onigashima.

The awakening of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, formerly known as the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, grants the user's rubber body increased strength and freedom, allowing them to fight in any way they please. It is for this reason that the user is said to become the "Warrior of Liberation" (解放の戦士, Kaihō no Senshi?), bringing joy and freedom to those around them, and this fruit's power being described as "the most ridiculous power in the world" (世界で最もふざけた能力, sekai de mottomo fuzaketa nōryoku?).[4]

Monkey D. Luffy, commonly known as "Straw Hat Luffy" or simply "Straw Hat",[10] is the founder and captain of the increasingly infamous and powerful Straw Hat Pirates.[26][27] He pursues the legendary treasure of the late Gol D. Roger in order to become the new Pirate King[28] and reach a further, untold dream (currently known to only his crew, family and closest friends).[29][30] He believes that being the Pirate King means having the most freedom in the world.[31]

Nico Robin,[17] also known by her epithet "Devil Child"[7] and the "Light of the Revolution",[8] is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the Senior Officers of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.[3] She is the seventh member of the crew and the sixth to join, doing so at the end of the Arabasta Arc. She temporarily left the crew during the Water 7 Arc but rejoined during the Enies Lobby Arc.

One Piece is the name the world gave to all the treasure gained by the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.[2] At least a portion of it once belonged to Joy Boy during the Void Century.[3] The treasure is said to be of unimaginable value, and is supposedly located on Laugh Tale, the final island of the Grand Line.

The One Piece is the driving goal of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, as well as that of most other pirates, who all seek to claim the treasure in order to become the next Pirate King, following Roger's final words at his world-changing execution.

The Egghead Arc (エッグヘッド編, Egguheddo-hen?),[1] also referred to as the Future Island Arc (未来島編, Mirai-jima-hen?), is the thirty-second story arc of the manga and anime One Piece, the first story arc of the Final Saga, and the ninth story arc of the second half of the series.
As the aftermaths of both the Levely and the Raid on Onigashima, as well as the erasure of the Lulusia Kingdom, cause major shifts across the world, the Straw Hat Pirates arrive at the futuristic island Egghead where the super genius Dr. Vegapunk resides. Jewelry Bonney is intent on killing Vegapunk for what he did to Bartholomew Kuma, whose past and connection to Vegapunk are revealed. Meanwhile, a CP0 team is dispatched to assassinate Vegapunk, leading to a Marine siege that escalates into an incident that will shock the world.
