Ingredients
300g sardine
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp mustard seeds
1 onion
1 green chili
5-8 dried chilies
5-8 bird's eye chilies
1 tbsp ginger
5 cloves of garlic
2 sprigs curry leaves
2-3 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/3 cup of tamarind water
1/2 cup diced potatoes
coriander leaves, optional
1/2 tbsp. lime juice, optional
oil
salt
Method
Heat pan with cooking oil . Add mustard seeds, let it crackle. Add cumin seeds followed by onion. Stir well. Add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2mins. Add all types of chilies. Stir for 1min. Add potatoes and curry leaves. Let the potatoes cook for 2-3mins. Add cumin, chili and turmeric powder. Sauté for 2-3mins using low heat. Add sardine followed by tamarind water and salt. Mix well. Let it cook till slightly dry. Add lime and off the flame.
