Indonesia Prepares to Face El Niño with Weather Modification

Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Teuku Faisal Fathani, after a meeting chaired by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/7/2026), said they would carry out weather modifications to replenish reservoirs in cooperation with relevant institutions. Meanwhile, such measures to address forest and land fires would focus on saturating peatlands with moisture.
