Here is a drum cover of Jason Aldean's song My Kind of Party. Much respect to Rich Redmond who did the drums on this track and all of the guys over at team aldean. I hope this video helps other country drummers get a visual of how this song can be approached.
I played this to the studio recording with no click track because the song's tempo seems to fluxuate, it doesn't really feel like that while I'm playing it, however. I'm lucky that I already kinda knew this song and had been playing a lot with the Nick Lynch band, however, I definitely took another pass at understanding it as I prepared for this session.
I recorded this song at Define Loud Studios right here in Chicago with Evan Dunn in January of 2020.
