What Happened to Australia’s Biggest TV Stars of the 1970s?

Описание: You know what's strange? There was a time when you just knew who'd be on TV.
Not because you'd looked it up or anything. You just knew. Same bloke. Same show. Every night, pretty much. You'd finish tea, sit down, turn it on… and there they were.
We only had a few channels back then. Three, really. Four if the aerial was behaving. So everyone watched the same stuff. Your whole street was probably watching the same thing you were.
And the people on TV… they weren't like celebrities are now. They felt closer than that. Like they were actually in your lounge room. Part of the evening.
My mum had her favourites. Dad had his. You'd all sit there together because, well, what else were you going to do?
These people were just… always there.
Until they weren't.
And you don't really notice when someone stops being on TV, do you? A show finishes. They move networks. Or they just quietly disappear. By the time you think to ask about them, they've been gone for years.
So I've been thinking about that. The ones who used to be everywhere. And wondering what actually happened.
