Get ready for the wildest toy convention you’ve never heard of — Zolocon! This isn’t your typical comic con or vintage toy show. Zolocon is the ultimate mashup of independent toy makers, insane custom art, retro toy culture, and yes… tattoos. In this first of our two-part Zolocon adventure, we’re diving headfirst into the creative side of the con—the artists, the makers, and the passion behind pop culture collectibles.

🎨 From custom sneakers to fake magazine covers, this convention is loaded with next-level creativity. Join Matt from Toy Attics and Kim as they explore the art side of Zolocon—and make some permanent memories along the way.

🖊️ It all starts with ink.
Matt and Kim both decide to get tattoos AT THE CON. Kim finally gets a piece she’s been dreaming about: a tattoo of candy hearts. Then Matt gets emotional (and maybe a little sweaty) while getting a tattoo of the first camcorder his parents gave him—the camera that started his lifelong passion for filmmaking.

👟 Then it’s on to the artists!
First up is Bull Airs, the custom sneaker designers making waves with their one-of-a-kind pop culture kicks. Think Air Jordans meet Ninja Turtles. They were generous enough to gift Matt a pair of their TMNT shoes—and they are FIRE. (Spoiler: Bobby Vala got a pair too.)

📰 Then we meet an incredible artist who creates fake magazine covers using iconic characters like Batman, Spider-Man, and more—designed so well you’ll wish they were real publications.

🎨 After that, we chat with Zabo Creations, a custom toy maker who builds figures that never existed, but absolutely should have. His work is detailed, imaginative, and pure collector gold.

🚀 We end our artist tour with 3D Plastic Corp, who don’t mess around when it comes to scale. They’ve built life-size Star Wars vehicles—not props, not scaled models. We’re talking full-blown, park-it-in-your-driveway type of builds. Unreal.

👟💥 The cherry on top? We run into Bobby Vala from Valaverse… and guess what? He’s rocking the same Ninja Turtle sneakers from Bull Airs. Coincidence? Or the universe confirming these are the coolest shoes on Earth?
