I'm Brandon Moon, and today we're tying up a fantastic ant pattern—The Hovering Ant. 🐜 Ants are a vital food source for fish in rivers, streams, and ponds, especially during summer. Fish can't resist them, and this pattern mimics a struggling ant perfectly, sitting low in the water column. 🌊

Let's dive in! We’re using the Moonlit Premium Tota ML 211 hook, sizes 14 and 16. Start with a bright red Seer Fly Classic Wax thread, then build a slim, realistic body using black foam and vibrant thread for a striking appearance. 🧵 Adding an orange poly yarn parachute makes it highly visible, while a touch of super glue secures everything in place. Finish with a grizzly Hackle and Moonlit Beaver dubbing to create the perfect thorax.
