Species: Brown-flanked Bush Warbler (Cettia fortipes pallidus)
Location: Sojha (~2550m asl), Kullu
District, Himachal Pradesh, India
Date: 28th August 2015
Brown Bushlers are known to be diligent territory defenders in the breeding period, and this is accomplished by delivering the most beautiful song. They are known for their intriguingly skulking manners like most bushler birds in the genus Cettia, however during the breeding period a song is delivered rather fearlessly at small intervals all day. Their presence is detected, if at all, by this unique and loud repertoire, which is very pleasing to the ear. B.B. Osmaston syllabised the bird's song in two most charming sentences:
"You.......mixed-it-so-quickly"
"Weee......I'll beat you!"
