In this presentation, Mr. George Salazar of NASA Johnson Space Center discusses the challenges of future space mission human-machine interfaces (HMI) as it applies to the space environment. The HMIs must meet the challenges of not just the microgravity environment but also the other environmental aspects that affect an HMI to ensure the human error is mitigated. This talk focuses on the methods and processes necessary to certify an HMI for a future spaceflight mission and is followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.
