I have tons of scrap wood in my woodshop and I’m always looking for fun and simple things to make with it. That’s where this idea came from. These vases are easy to make and the process can be adjusted to whatever wood and tools you have available.
The pieces I used were 3in. X 3in. X 11in. I even glued some different wood types together creating a fun contrast in colors.
For the finish, I just used a bit of boiled linseed oil but use whatever you have available.
It’s important to remember this is about working with what you have. This was a scrap wood project for me. Use the idea and adjust it to your tools, wood you have, finish you like, etc… Be creative. Build on this idea!
