Nicky and Laura, also known as 'The Secondary Sisters,' offer their advice this World Cancer Day.
After being diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer in 2016, the pair met by chance at a cancer support group event in 2019. A few months later they set up Secondary Sisters on Instagram – creating a safe space to share and connect with other women living with secondary cancer. Each week they share cancer information, updates and personal stories. They want to let other women with secondary breast cancer know they’re not alone.
“We’re supporting World Cancer Day this year as we know it’s so important for everyone to come together.”
Since setting up Secondary Sisters, Nicky and Laura have become inseparable. They speak to each other almost every day, despite living almost 3 hours away from each other.
“Our advice this World Cancer Day is to link up and find that support from somebody out there.”
