Rwanda - Refugee Crisis Too Big To Manage

Описание: (13 Jul 1994) International aid agencies said on Wednesday (13/7) that they
feared that Rwanda's refugee crisis may have become too big to
manage. Hundreds of thousands of refugees, a "human tidal wave",
is on the move in search of safety. Barefoot and emaciated,
refugees have been seen heading towards the Zairean frontier.
Mainly members of the Hutu majority tribe, the men, women and
children are fleeing the Tutsi-dominated Rwanda Patriotic Front
(RPF) as its pursues its victorious advance in the three-month-old
civil war. A mass evacuation has occurred from the northern
garrison town of Ruhengeri, still tenaciously held by government
forces.
