🙏🏼 Jesus, the Good Shepherd | A Catholic Prayer & Meditation

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Jesus, my Good Shepherd...You are the One who knows me, calls me by name, and walks beside me—not from a distance, but with closeness and care.

Though You are rightfully called King, Judge, and even the Lord of Hosts,
for this expression of love, for this message of closeness and care,
You chose to say:“I am the Good Shepherd.” (John 10:11)

Not just any shepherd… but the Good Shepherd.The One who leads gently, who stays near, who lays down His life for His sheep. You wanted this image because it demonstrates the depth of Your love and the tenderness of Your care.

O Jesus, my Good Shepherd,My heart longs for Your peace, guidance, and protection.In this moment of prayer, I surrender my worries, burdens, and uncertainties into Your hands,Trusting completely in Your merciful love for me.

As the Good Shepherd who walks with His flock,You are neither distant nor indifferent.You tend to my every need.You laid down Your life for me, showing boundless love and faithfulness.

In moments when I feel lost, please remind me that You search for me.When I am weary, please carry me on Your shoulders.When I am afraid, please speak words of comfort to my soul.

Lead me away from the dangers of sin and temptation.Strengthen my faith when doubts arise.Fill me with courage when I feel weak.Let me rest in the assurance that I am never alone, for You are always near.

O Jesus, I long to hear Your voice more clearly.In the noise of this world, help me tune my heart to recognize Your gentle call.Give me the grace to follow You with trust,Knowing that no trial, no hardship, and no darkness can separate me from Your love.

You are my refuge, my protector, and my guide through every valley and mountain of life.O Divine Shepherd, draw me ever closer to Your Sacred Heart.

O dear Lord, I also lift up my family and loved ones.
Those who feel lost today—Those who wander in confusion,Those burdened by sorrow,And those who feel abandoned.Seek them out, O Good Shepherd, and bring them safely home to Your embrace.Help them know the joy of being known and loved by You.

And lastly, most loving Savior, I also bring before You this special intention.
