Title: Light field display using wavelength division multiplexing (SD&A 101)

Abstract: 3D displays can attract interest and attention of people. In particular, a light field display with a large screen is effective in advertisement and exhibition because it enables multiple viewers to see 3D images simultaneously. In prior researches, methods of using a projector array or an active screen were proposed. However, former has difficulty in installing a large number of projectors and latter has a complicated mechanical motion. In order to solve these problem, we proposed a large screen light field display which has a simple structure and effortless installation process. The proposal system provides 3D images simultaneously for multiple viewers by time-division display based on wavelength division multiplexing. In the system, only one projector is used and the screen has no mechanical motion. Therefore, the structure is simple and the installation is easy despite the large screen. We conducted a computer simulation to confirm the principle of the proposed method. The result showed that the proposed system can display 3D image with appropriate parallaxes and different colors depending on the viewpoints.
Biography: Masaki Yamauchi was born in Iwate prefecture, Japan, in 1996. He received the B.E. degree in Department of Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology, Niigata Japan, in 2018. He is now a master course student of Nagaoka University of Technology.
