This video shows how to use an inexpensive analog meter (tachometer/voltmeter/ammeter) to accurately determine motorcycle engine speed at idle. This tool has much better resolution than the on-board tach and is especially helpful when adjusting mixture screws or synchronizing carburetors. The meter is also capable of reading battery voltage as well as alternator output.
