Salt and Vinegar- a short film

This is my debut 30 min short film .I started working Salt and Vinegar in January 2025, in my 'Film' notebook- gathering inspirations while working on my technique as a new and young filmmaker with only a camera and a laptop. Luckily for me , my partner Nico Miniailo and great friend Maia Kimpton agreed to help me out.
In may 2025 Nico made us a shared google document titled 'film'. Over the next 2 months with incredibly tight shooting dates ( the only 5 dates we were all free over the summer holidays before year 11 stared) we started writing the script . It was challenging trying to condense my 6 months of planning into a short film with 2 actors and a crew of 1 (me) but we gave it a good old crack!
Then I went into the ending process (I sound like I take myself very seriously doesn't it !) from August - November I color graded all my shots on Pixelmator pro before agonizingly editing the sound and videos on Da Vinci Resolve. This would have not of been possible if not for Maia and Nico (my biggest inspirations) who managed to project my silly little ideas into a reality and looked good while doing it!
However, if you have been bothered to withstand 30 minutes of direct address and dodgy camera you may of noticed many a slip up on my behalf - as one woman crew I couldn't afford a microphone and my hands where already pre-occupied with the camera which proved tricky when leaf blowers and tree surgeons got in the way ! Luckily, Nico wrote and preformed a beautiful song, featuring my immensely talented sister Billie, that is a leitmotif over the film.
Anyway , this film has ultimately been a journey of learning, growing and discovering - and I will be doing things very differently in my next project- I also realize that I am a 15 years old on YouTube so I probably sound really wanky writing like I don't have 11 subscribers (thanks guys).
