Theme: Starting Ramadan with the Right Heart
Dear brothers and sisters,
We are now in Ramadan.
The month of mercy.
The month of forgiveness.
The month of change.
But Ramadan is not only about fasting with the body.
It is about fasting with the heart.
The question is not:
👉 How many hours will I fast?
The question is:
👉 How much will my heart change?
PART 1 — RAMADAN IS A GIFT, NOT A BURDEN
Allah says:
“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you so that you may become righteous.”
— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183
Fasting is not punishment.
It is training for the soul.
It teaches:
Patience
Discipline
Gratitude
Self-control
Compassion for the poor
PART 2 — WHAT DOES FASTING REALLY MEAN?
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever does not leave false speech and bad behavior, Allah has no need of him leaving food and drink.”
— Bukhari
True fasting includes:
Eyes that avoid haram Tongue that avoids backbiting
Hands that avoid harm Heart that avoids hatred
A hungry stomach with a sinful tongue is not real fasting.
PART 3 — START SMALL, BUT START SINCERE
Dear believers,
Do not try to change everything in one day.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if small.”
— Bukhari & Muslim
Try:
One extra prayer
A few verses of Qur’an
One act of kindness
One bad habit removed
One heart cleaned
Small steps bring big change.
PART 4 — RAMADAN IS A MONTH OF RETURNING
Ramadan is for:
Those who fell away
Those who feel distant
Those who feel broken
Those who feel weak
Allah says:
“O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy.”
— Surah Az-Zumar 39:53
No one is too far for Allah.
🟫 SECOND KHUTBAH
Make Ramadan a Month of Mercy for Others
Dear brothers and sisters,
Do not keep Ramadan only for yourself.
Be mercy for others:
Feed the hungry Forgive people Help the needy
Be patient Be kind
The Prophet ﷺ said in a hadith Qudsi, where Allah speaks directly:
"Every deed of the son of Adam is for himself, except fasting. It is for Me, and I will reward it."
(Bukhari and Muslim)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best people are those who benefit others.”
— Tabarani

A Message to our Families
Make Ramadan gentle at home:
*Not stressful *Not angry *Not harsh
Let children love Ramadan, not fear it.
My Brothers and Sisters
Ramadan is not about being perfect —
It is about becoming better.
Start with sincerity.
Continue with patience.
End with transformation.
📿 DU‘A
O Allah, accept our fasting and our prayers.
O Allah, purify our hearts and forgive our sins.
O Allah, make this Ramadan a turning point in our lives.
O Allah, heal the sick, help the needy, and guide the lost.
O Allah, bring peace to our homes, our communities, and the world.
Ameen.
