According to QSR, an Edison Trends study found that domestic spending at fast casual restaurants on chicken sandwiches went up 420 percent from January 2019 to December 2020.

One chain is responsible for almost half of that spending: Chick-fil-A. Popeyes is giaining, too. But they're not the only players in the chicken game. Plenty of regional chains, overseas favorites and startups are expanding rapidly, and you're sure to see plenty of them over the next few years. Chicken competition is about to get fierce.
