January 19, 2026. We drove up in the wee hours (4am) to get to Stratton which surprisingly didn’t have a blackout date today for the Ikon pass. And there were no lines at all too, crazy.
I think Stratton was still recovering from the rain they had last week, but over 8 inches fell Saturday and while most of the trails got tracked out, there was some really great powder stashes left over. The main trails had lots of exposed rocks and ice, and some of the glades too but once you adventured out it got so good. Great day!
We dropped into Moondance a little late since the top of the trail was not the best on our last attempt. After some navigating we came across insane powder stashes where it just felt like we were surfing.
