Kent County´s Organists´ Association Organ Competition 2019 winner recital. Ondřej was also awarded a recital in Rochester Cathedral which took place in July 2019.

CV:
Ondřej Smolik is a student at the Conservatory of Pardubice, in the Czech Republic. He studies organ performance with Prof. Josef Rafaja and Prof. Michal Hanuš. In addition he studies Piano Performance with Prof. Jitka Fowler-Fraňková.

During his studies at the Conservatory, Ondřej has taken part in many National and International competitions. He has also won a number of prizes, for example, second prize at the Pro Bohemia Ostrava 2018 competition as well as second prize at the Brno organ competition of the Czech Conservatories. He was awarded first prize at the KCOA Organ Competition in Maidstone, Kent in 2019. In the course of travel to these competitions, he has had the opportunity to play in various interesting places abroad including London, Belfast, Rochester etc.

Within the Czech Republic itself, in his academic results, he has also won several awards including "Young talented person of the year 2019" and in the following year "Young talented person of the year 2020".

As well as studying at the Pardubice Conservatory Ondřej has just graduated at the University of Pardubice and TU Dresden with a Master's Thesis which has focused on Stochastic Mortality Modeling. This year he’s setting out on his career as an Actuary but continuing to have organ playing in his heart and intends to continue giving recitals as well as playing at his local church. He also teaches music in his free time.
