Описание: [Sweelinck Mein Junges Leben hat ein End] SwWV 324 performed on a historic Ruckers harpsichord by Leonart Music in a 4K video recording. Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck variations played by Nenad Leonart on his historic double manual harpsichord (Ruckers 1624) from the late renaissance/early baroque with the copy of a Rembrandt painting. The harpsichord is built by Matthias Griewisch and the painting is made by Dunja Ciric; in this video you can hear the instrument in a quarter comma meantone temperament.

“Mein junges Leben hat ein Endt" SwWV 324 [Song variations]

The title of this work translates from the German as My young life has ended. It bears the designation SwWV324 and it’s composed by Sweelinck, Jan Pieterszoon (1562-1621). Sweelinck was a Dutch composer, organist, and pedagogue whose work straddled the end of the Renaissance and beginning of the Baroque eras. He was among the first major keyboard composers of Europe, and his work as a teacher helped establish the north German organ tradition. Sweelinck represents the highest development of the Dutch keyboard school, and indeed represented a pinnacle in keyboard contrapuntal complexity and refinement before J.S. Bach; his tradition is carried on through his pupils and can be found even in J. S. Bach’s works.

Short Bio:
Nenad Leonart is a baroque musician on harpsichord solo and baroque organ based in Switzerland. He was born in Nis (Serbia) and studied early music and harpsichord in the University of Arts Zurich (ZHdK). He plays the harpsichord (клавесин | ハープシコード | clavicembalo | cembalo | clavecin), and also clavichord and other historic keyboard instruments. Since last year, he has started his own series of concerts in his home studio “Leonart Studio” in Greifensee and moved into the music video production business. He also works as an organist, concert harpsichordist and basso continuo player.

As a baroque music afficionado, I am a big fan of my all-time favorite artists Andreas Staier, Gustav Leonhardt and Jean Rondeau. They have inspired me to go much further and cover new grounds, so I even started building my own baroque digital organ – it’s a Hauptwerk organ („Hauptwerk Orgel“) that’s able to play pipes from all my favorite baroque organs!
