Director’s Statement:
This film is both a reflection on confronting past trauma and a meditation on how easily we take the natural world for granted. Inspired by 1970s slow-burn thrillers and exploitation cinema, The Nature of Death draws from the pacing, performances, humor, and atmosphere of that era.

Our goal was to create something that doesn’t just reference those films, but feels as though it could have been discovered on a dusty reel — a nostalgic, uneasy journey that asks viewers to sit with discomfort, memory, and the strange beauty of the wild.
