Demolition has begun on a vacant Walmart and adjoining buildings in Round Lake Beach, Illinois, where a new Meijer Supercenter will be built. The exact location is in the Mallard Creek Plaza which is at Rollins Road and Hainesville Road. Demolition was slated to begin in October of 2014 but has been delayed waiting on necessary permitting as well as Com Ed's need to shut off power to the complex without effecting remaining businesses.
