Women’s Forum Australia Chief Executive Rachel Wong says the policies in Australia on housing transgender women, biological males, in women’s prison is “unjust, is unsafe, and is quite frankly demented”.
“There are men being housed in women’s prisons across the country in Australia, and what’s worse is authorities are trying to cover it up,” Ms Wong said.
“Our laws and policies here are an absolute mess.”
