Описание: On February 3, 1943 during World War II, Four Chaplains of the United States Army gave their lives to save other civilian and military personnel as the troop ship SS Dorchester sank. They helped other soldiers board lifeboats and gave up their own life jackets when the supply ran out. The chaplains joined arms, said prayers, and sang hymns as they went down with the ship. We give thanks for the witness and service of Chaplains George Fox, Alexander Goode, Clark Poling, and John Washington. They are a model of service and sacrifice for the Chaplain Corps and we thank God for their service and ultimate sacrifice for the welfare of soldiers.
