Rises, rotates and shines! The hi-tech behind Beijing Games' 'Giant Snowflake'

The romantic snowflake gently rose and rotated in air shining with the names of some 90 countries and regions participating in the Games.

And what’s behind the never-seen-before was Chinese engineers’ meticulous efforts which started in July 2021.

One of the bottleneck is to keep the 'Giant Snowflake' stable in the night air.

To ensure the Olympic Cauldron stable under different wind speed conditions the team proposed to improve the suspension method.

A unique and spectacular lighting of the flame inside the ‘Giant Snowflake’ leaving the sporting spirit goes on.
