Kohoj Fort dates back to the Satavahana period and later came under the rule of various dynasties including the Marathas. Due to its strategic location, the fort was used as a watchtower to monitor trade routes passing through the surrounding region. Today, the ruins, rock-cut cisterns, and caves still tell stories of its glorious past.

This is the most budget-friendly and convenient way to reach Kohoj Fort using public transport.

Drive towards Palghar → Wada road

Follow Google Maps to Vaghote Village (Kohoj Fort Base Village)

Parking space is available near the base village

From the parking area, begin the trek towards the fort
