In this episode of Voice of the Sea, weʻre in American Samoa, talking about the coastline and nearshore waters. We visit the Lionʻs Park living shoreline project, designed to protect the recreational area from coastal erosion. And, we visit three villages participating in the Community Based Fishery Management Program, designed to enhance nearshore ecosystems and improve fisheries at the village level. By working together, these community efforts are helping to bring back abundance and health in the ocean and on land.
