As the central component of a warehouse automation project, Egemin Automation has developed a fully integrated unit load sortation and stacking system. Several production lines feed product into a main trunk line. The product cubes are presented on slip sheets and are stretch wrapped. The system design enhances AGV availability and lowers the overall vehicle count by pairing similar products to be stacked by the AGVs to be delivered to the warehouse as double stacks.

The main line CDLR conveyor moves product through the system, while the stops and transfers "sort" the loads into the correct two-position spur. These spurs are designed for AGV interactions such as; the supports at the pick points are inset and the guards have been modified to improve access for the clamp. In addition, the conveyor works in unison with the clamp AGV to stack product.

One of the most important aspects of the system is the communication between the customer's management software, Egemin's Warehouse Management Software (E'wms), and the conveyor control PLC. Together they track the loads throughout the warehouse and determine which loads will be paired where.
