Lung ultrasound is an essential skill for evaluating patients with shortness of breath, difficulty of breathing and in respiratory distress. Ultrasound is better at identifying lung pathology than the more utilized chest x-ray. With an understanding of lung ultrasound, diagnosis of many lung pathologies can be made earlier and with improved sensitivity and specificity compared to chest x-ray.
In this video we will discuss the basic lung ultrasound exam and go through evaluating for lung sliding.
