Here's a look back to Heathrow on 17 December 2019, with 2 aircraft lining up and departing one after the other; both of which are gone from our skies. First up is BA 777-200 G-ZZZB; one of the earliest of the BA 777 fleet, brought into service in 1997, and seen departing for New York Newark as the BA 185. This was one of the routes often used by the 777-200 (non ER) variant, along with routes to the Middle East.
Immediately behind is G-CIVX, operating as BA 285 to San Francisco, callsign BA 11M. G-CIVX is one of 5 BA 747s that in the early part of the COVID lockdown, flew in convoy to Teruel Spain - see my screenshot from "Flight Radar" at the end of the clip. These 747s are still in "storage" at Teruel but some have had engines removed some years ago now.
G-ZZZB made its' last flight in August 2020 - heading to St Athan Wales where it was subsequently broken up. If you look through this channel you'll find some footage of the aircraft at St Athan, before breakup.
