• Test #3 – Your response to the Word of God.

How does genuine faith respond to God’s Word? When real faith hears God’s Word, there is an affection for its truth & a desire in the heart to obey. Ps 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God.

You do not have to teach an infant to want milk—neither do you have to coach a child of God to hunger for the spiritual food of God’s Word—natural impulse of new life. Fine-tunes their heart’s dashboard to the frequency of Scripture. Jn 8:31 If you continue in My Word, you really are My disciples —an ongoing obedience to Scripture is the evidence of genuine discipleship.

True believers love Word. Ps119 How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD…. w/all my heart I have sought You; do not let me stray from Your commandments …. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches.

• A true relationship w/Christ responds to God’s Word w/joy.
• No interest in hearing, much less obeying, indicates lostness.
o Natural desire of unbelievers to disregard/diminish/disobey.

If you had rather doze thru the Word instead of devouring it—it speaks volumes to the actual condition of your heart. My first church – clip, toothpick, keys.
Ps 119:155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek Your statutes.
