What if you knew that some aspect of education damaged students’ motivation, growth mindset, relationships with their teachers, and performance on standardized exams? Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to eliminate or at least limit these impacts? And yet, we now know that these are all effects of grading. In this session, we will explore these effects and provide viable alternatives for more humane, effective approaches to assessment, feedback, and reporting that help students grow beyond grades. This Webinar will be of interest to teachers and school leaders of the elementary through high school and higher education levels.

A passionate educator with a thirst for knowledge and a love for growth mindset. Currently the Head of English in a French school in Dubai, I have led the completion of the school’s Self Evaluation Form, submitted annually prior to each inspection. I also have responsibilities as an Academic Advisor to our sister school in Abu Dhabi. Internationally, I have established formal relationships with the French American School of Rhode Island and Providence Country Day School, in the USA. My responsibilities include curriculum coordination, student exchange, academic support and pastoral care of students. Over a career spanning more than 16 years, I have taught in a UK curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, an American curriculum school in Dubai, and assumed leadership responsibilities in 2010 at a French curriculum school in Dubai.
