Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Brahmaputra Riverfront Project in Guwahati on November 7, 2025. A transformative urban initiative developed to blend nature, culture, and modern design. The riverfront reimagines the city’s connection with the mighty Brahmaputra. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called it a “proud moment for Guwahati,” highlighting the state’s focus on sustainable development. The event also coincided with the inauguration of the Guwahati Gateway Ghat Terminal and Sitharaman’s visit to the Tata Semiconductor project at Jagiroad, where she engaged with young entrepreneurs.
