In Week 4 of my NVDA Options Wheel Tracker series, both my covered call and cash-secured put expired out of the money.
I tried to roll the $185 covered call straight out one week, but the order wouldn’t fill. The only way to avoid ending up with a naked call was to let it expire today — I’ll sell a new covered call on Monday. Not my preferred approach, since I don’t know if Monday’s trade will be better or worse, but I like to sleep at night.
The cash-secured put was a much simpler decision. I compared a straight roll to a roll down, and the choice was immediately clear. That roll came in with an annualized return of about 90%.
This week is a good example of why I run the Double Ferris Wheel strategy. The stock pulled back, but options income once again offset what would have been an unrealized loss, keeping my overall profit steady.
