Random Jam #3 [jazzy ambient w/ 0-Coast, Ditto X4, Digitakt & Keystep]

This is a first attempt at blending soft jazz and ambient! I'm not a jazz player by any means so don't look for any musical sense, aha, I just threw some fancy chords here and there. Also I'm still experimenting with the Digitakt/Ditto setup but overall I'm quite happy with the result. Patch note below!

The Digitakt is only here to control the looper and sequence notes for the 0-Coast. The guitar goes through a compressor pedal then straight to the looper. The signal from the looper is then mixed with the 0-Coast (via an audio interface off-screen) and they both go through the pedal that you can see above the Digitakt. A cool thing about the Ditto X4 is that you can stack multiple FX, I used the Half-Speed and Reverse on this one. By engaging them before recording the first loop, the FX will only apply when the first loop start playing back. The overdubs are not affected by the FX though. The best part is that when you disengage the FX, the first loop gets back to normal but the overdubs are affected in the "opposite direction". In this case the overdub are played back at double-speed and in reverse, that's what you can hear starting 4:14. I love it because you get a totally new set of loops but they still feel related to the previous ones.

The signal from the pedal output was recorded straight into the DAW where I added the reverb and a second delay to make the piece a bit more stereo. I also did some minor edits to remove a few clicks (bad looping points at the beginning and some digital crackles). The whole thing goes through Kramer MPX and Ozone 5 for mastering. There seem to be some kind of nasty distortion in the low frequency range, that's a real bummer and I'm sorry about this.
