Nidovirus (serpentovirus) is a serious problem in the captive snake trade. Researchers have isolated this virus in animals that show very serious disease including death.

Recently Mutation Creation was identified in a recap of a person purchasing a snake who learned they had nidovirus (serpentovirus).

For some reason there isn't any rational conversation around this. Instead there is a lot of leaning heavily on rumor and reputation rather than science and facts. This makes conversations around nidovirus (serpentovirus) in the hobby very difficulty and outright nonsensical.

In these clips we cover why people don't hear about nidovirus infected animals from big sellers. We talk about whether or not someone should use their social media presence to "ruin" someone else instead of working on promoting hygiene and diagnostics to prevent the spread of nidovirus.
