Effie Guadalupe Phillips-Staley is a non-profit executive with a decades-long work history in education, culture, and social justice. She is currently serving her second term as Trustee in the Village of Tarrytown, where she prioritizes creating safe and walkable streets, building more affordable housing, boosting climate change resilience, and supporting local businesses. Effie grew up in a middle-class family in Sacramento, California. Her mother immigrated to the United States from El Salvador; her father was a war veteran who served in the United States Army in World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War.

Emily Simoness is the Founder of Plus One for America, and the lead organizer for the "57 Dinner" initiative across New York 17. Her work on Plus One is just the latest impactful venture Emily has led, previously: founding and leading SPACE on Ryder Farm, which provided artists with fully subsidized residencies to allow them to develop; and co-founded TieDyen4Biden which raised $170,000 for Democratic candidates in 2020. She has taught at NYC and North Carolina School of the Arts, been profiled in Forbes, the New York Times, Modern Farmer, and the Wall Street Journey, and in 2017, was honored with the Lucille Lortel Visionary Award by the League of Professional Theatre Women. Emily current works as an executive coach, strategic advisor, and fundraising strategist. Emily lives in North Salem with her husband and daughter.
