Controlling your devices by actually touching them could soon be a thing of the past.
French-based Bixi has designed a touch-free smart control, which allows users to control a wide array of gadgets just with hand gestures.

STORY-LINE:
It looks a bit like magic - but in fact, this is touch-free technology.
When you wave your hand over it, the touch-free smart control - called Bixi - allows you to control your smart phone with gestures.
To skip tracks on a music player, users just move their hand right or left.
To raise or lower the volume, they move their hand up or down.
It uses a simple sensor to track movement and uses Bluetooth low energy to connect to a variety of devices, including smartphones, lights, TVs and music players.
It can run for around two weeks on one single charge and is charged via micro-USB.
"The idea is to allow people to control their devices without touching them," explains Luc Jourdan from Bixi at the recent Consumer Electronics Show.
"So, for example, your hands are either dirty, wet or gloved, or when you want to drive distraction free, it's very useful to have this kind of product to control your devices."
Jourdan says there's an array of other potential uses.
Budding chefs can use it while reading recipes from devices, it can be used with a gaming pad to play touchscreen games, musicians can use it to play MIDI instruments.
"Our mission for the company Bixi, is also to work with different partners to put our technology in different devices such as for music, or to control in some manufacturing company for the factory, to control things," says Jourdan.
"Or for special events, to control the sound or to control the lights to do very smart things and very magic things."
Bixi is available on crowd-funding website Indiegogo for around 80 US dollars.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) ran 5-8 January 2017 in Las Vegas.
