Having taken a gamble and calculation that Britannia heading North on The Palatine special and the Carnforth 8F heading south to Burton on a stock movement would pass somewhere between Euxton and Wigan, I plumped for the best vantage point between the two at Charnock Richard. Watching the times closely it looked way out when the Brit ws suddenly 10 Late and the *F a couple early, however a holding at Balshaw Lane Station allowed the times to almost equalise out and as we watch the 8 climb the bank toward Wigan in the distance we see the Brit approaching, and with a mutual whistle they pass about half a mile down the line from where we were, a good test of the zoom though!
We then see the Brit at Rishton topping the climb out of Blackburn where she had stopped off for a water topup.
