Skrinkle Haven

Описание: Skrinkle Haven beach sits between Old Castle Head and Lydstep Point and is located to the south-east of pretty Manorbier Village. There is a small bay here that is encircled by high cliffs and when the tide is low you will find a wide expanse of soft golden sand.

To get to the beach you will need to make your way down some steep steps which may be challenging for some visitors. As an alternative, there is also a picturesque picnic site at the top of the pathway that allows you to take in the views over the bay.

Around the headland on the east side of the beach you will find the pretty Church Doors beach. This consists of a cove with several caves in the form of arches that are said to look like church doors. Whilst the two beaches are separated by a small limestone headland you can walk from one to the other when the tide is out. There is also a pathway through a small cave that takes you across the headland.
Skrinkle Haven was inaccessible for many years as it was located close to the Royal Artillery Range although military operations no longer take place.
The beach is also an area of important geological interest due to the limestone and red sandstone cliffs. These have created the signature caves, blowholes, and chasms that are found all along the coastline and there is also a wealth of local wildlife to discover in the area
