Aisha Potti was warmly welcomed into the Congress party by Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan, who received her with open arms at the Congress day-and-night protest venue in Thiruvananthapuram. Although there had been rumours for some time about her joining the Congress, the move was almost finalised when she attended the memorial event of Oommen Chandy. There is no clear answer as to why it was delayed afterward. Reports suggest that Aisha Potti may contest as a UDF candidate from Kottarakkara in the 2026 Assembly elections. Meanwhile, left-wing supporters are reportedly working round the clock on social media to brand her as an opportunist. Responding after taking Congress membership, Aisha Potti said that she has no opposition or resentment towards the party.
