In September 2020, NRF initiated a Historic Structure Report on the William Vernon House, a National Historic Landmark at 46 Clarke St in Newport. This study will provide us with a roadmap for taking care of this remarkable property that once served as Rochambeau’s headquarters during the American Revolution.
Through our new video series, “Behind the Walls: Uncovering the History of Vernon House,” we’re taking you along for the journey! The series will provide the NRF community with an inside look into this exciting process, following expert historic preservation consultants as they go beneath the boards and behind the walls to discover answers to the many mysteries hidden in this over 300 year-old home.
