Homework can be challenging for multilingual students—especially when language barriers and limited academic support stand in the way of success. Homework Juntxs is changing that. Through the Bilingual Homework Hotline, University of North Texas students provide free, virtual homework support to K–12 multilingual learners, creating a space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Led by UNT Professor of Anthropology Dr. Mariela Nuñez-Janes, Homework Juntxs brings together educators, community partners, and technology innovators to expand equitable learning opportunities. In partnership with Denton ISD, the UNT College of Education, and Enabling Learning, this initiative combines culturally responsive teaching, mentorship, and ethical AI tools to help students succeed while preparing the next generation of educators.
