We're wasting too much food.

How much food do we buy, probably because it was on sale or was some spontaneous craving, which then gets forgotten in the bottom of the fridge, set aside because it doesn't match other parts of a meal, and quickly goes bad, since it's most likely produce and other perishables that only last a few short days?

So out it goes in the garbage, or hopefully at least the compost, and then you need to head back to the grocery store. As our guest Dawn Jackson Blatner says, "You're just throwing your money into the trash!"
