The Bandung Lautan Api incident was a major fire event that occurred in Bandung, West Java province, Indonesia on March 23, 1946. Within seven hours, about 200,000 Bandung residents burned their homes, leaving the city for the mountains in the southern area of Bandung. This was done to prevent Allied troops and Dutch NICA soldiers from being able to use the city of Bandung as a military strategic headquarters in the Indonesian War of Independence.
Now Bandung is independent and the development of the city has become more neat and beautiful, it can even be used as a tourist attraction for local and foreign tourists.
