In a shocking turn of events, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been ousted. This comes after the anti-quota protests turned into a mass uprising against PM Hasina, which eventually led to the collapse of her government. Sheikh Hasina has now fled the country. Earlier, she landed in India's Tripura along with her sister and now she is enroute London. Back in Bangladesh, the army has taken over. Bangladesh's Army Chief, General Waker-uz-Zaman confirmed Hasina's exit in a rare television appearance. The military has named an interim government, which will mostly comprise retired generals and former judges. Hasina's party, the Awami League, has been completely removed from power. General Zaman also reassured protesters that their demands will be met. Protesters celebrated Hasina's ouster, stormed into her official residence and also demolished Hasina' father Sheikh Mujibur's statue. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma brings you the full report.
