A short distance away from Shkoder, Albania, nestled in the mountains is the small village of Theth at the centre of Theth National Park. Getting there from Shkoder by car makes for a visually dramatic (and slightly heart stopping) journey, just the start of the promise of beauty from this incredible landscape. There are several hikes you can take in the area, and we decided on a day hike from Theth to the Blue Eye (not to be confused with another place with the same name much further south) and back again.
The place is absolutely gorgeous and our day was made even better by meeting and chatting with local people and hearing traditional music played on a stringed instrument called çifteli. As to the vista, we'll let our footage do the talking.
